At the end of this year as coach I am very impressed by how the team has responded throughout the year to bring around a fantastic second half to the year and all should be proud of their contributions througout the year.
I would like to thank each and every one of the players for their application and effort over the past twelve months.
On a more personal level, I would like to thank Stuart and Phil for all their assistance this year over a broad spectrum of issues, a special mention to 'Magic Hands' Mesner for all his off field help regarding not just my two injuries but to the other players hampered this year. Being coach for the Accies has been a roller coaster of a ride as trying to keep all players happy while trying to get results is almost as political as it is sports related and hopefully this can be addressed for future years so the coach can concentrate on the football, for anyone who feels that they were misused I can only apologise profusely......
Hopefully the way we ended the year can be taken forward for next year so go easy on the Turkey and hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Thanks for all of your hard work Neill. I think the big success of this year has been to maintain a respectable level of performance week in week out.
As coach you took the blame in the first half of the year and so should get the credit for the success of the past 6 months.
The game against MRC Ewell showed that any combination of 11 squad players could be competitive so long as team spirit was good. The cup game against Mott showed that a 'best 11' could fall on their arses if we are not united.
Like you say, the real challenge for next year will be to foster and maintain a good team spirit .We need to work out how to support whoever is in charge to manage team selection and tactics as well as man management. Any ideas?
